Youth Workers Network

The Youth Workers Network met recently at the synod office.
What an energetic, caring group of AAA (Authentic, Available and Affirming) Adults they are!

Here are some of the ways we pass on the faith to the next generation:

A very active LYO Board meets regularly, plans and organizes two youth gatherings, youth Sunday and more.

The Youth Workers Network shares ideas, offers support and ongoing education for adults who work with youth in professional, as well as volunteer, roles.

Under the Bishop's Initiative for Raising Up Leaders, we provide several programs including Shaping Future Leaders, Invitation to Serve, Growing God's Children, and Certification School for youth workers.

SUMMER SPLASH

A retreat for youth workers (staff or volunteer) to get connected, gain valuable tools, and get energized!

The Youth Workers Network is excited to bring Dependable Strengths Training to our annual summer event.  Because of the scope of the training, this years event will be limited to 24 people.  Registration is NOW OPEN! Click here to download a registration form.

Dependable Strengths training helps you uncover your unique pattern of excellence by reviewing positive experiences from your life.  Knowing your dependable strength can lead to more of what you do well and enjoy doing and lay claim to your calling in daily life.

This workshop combines brief lectures with individual exercises and small group experiences.  Through the first part you will learn about your own pattern of unique strengths, identifying and articulating your core abilities, talents, and skills—your “best self”. The second part will teach you how to plan and lead “Discover Your Dependable Strengths” workshops in your own congregation; you will learn how to help others uncover their strengths and apply this learning to situations in their homes, workplaces, communities, and congregations.

Value to Participant

This event is made possible because of a generous grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Siebert Lutheran Foundation as part of the Bishops’ Initiative to identify, nurture, inspire, invite, equip and send the next generation of leaders for our church.
